Alien Invasyndrome Security Routes — Way A and Way B
Demo Security Room branches before the boss gate
Security Room is the Demo gate
Security Room is the mid-to-late Demo choke on Atlas. After intro, nesting, skill tree spends, and Kitchen Route, you face Way A and Way B — alternate approaches into the same security problem space. This page details both routes in mechanical language. Adult content is 18+; progression still hinges on stealth, nest readiness, and INT/STR mix.
Spine: Demo Walkthrough. Guide twin: Security Room. Hub: Walkthrough Hub. Boss: How to Beat the Boss. Softlocks: Softlock Fixes.
Steam app 4603980, Mozu Field / 百舌鳥, Shady Corner Games. Full release TBA. Demo reference builds near v0.99.x.
Shared readiness checklist (both routes)
Before committing either Way:
- Nest economy stable — How to Nest, Nest Checklist.
- Softlock on command — Stealth Actions.
- Detection minute respected — Stealth and Detection, Detection Timer.
- Skill plan set — Skill Tree, Early Build, Skill Planner.
- Kitchen objectives banked — do not enter Security half-upgraded from a failed food-wing sprint.
- UI readable — Locale Emulator if needed.
If any item fails, abort to nest. Security Room punishes pride.
Route A — Security Way A
Way A is the patience route. It rewards doorway discipline, desk softlocks, and INT-leaning utility when patrol gaps are short.
Entry
- Approach from the corridor your Demo path opens after Kitchen banking.
- Scout sight cones before the first Security threshold.
- Enter on a turn-away; never on a facing idle.
- Mark a desk or equivalent hide tile before you take the first interaction.
Mid-route habits
- One commit, then reassess — do not chain loud actions across the Security floor.
- Prefer edge movement over center crosses.
- If spotted, softlock and wait the full ~1 minute. Leaving early recreates the same wipe.
- Spend emergency STR only when a patrol pattern is truly stuck, not as a default.
Build fit
Way A pairs well with:
- Early stealth / nesting nodes.
- INT utility for cleaner interact windows.
- Players who already mastered Kitchen softlocks.
Poor fit: zero nest income, STR-only vanity dumps, and players who refuse to wait the detection minute.
Failure modes unique to A
- Overconfidence after a quiet first doorway.
- Menu reading in open sight lines.
- Retreating into the wrong hall and pulling a second patrol chain.
Recovery: desk → full hide → nest bank if needed → re-entry. See Softlock Fixes if the hide state is truly stuck.
Route B — Security Way B
Way B shifts timing and approach relative to Way A. It is still stealth-action, not a brawler unlock. The difference is pressure windows and how aggressively you must re-time chokepoints.
Entry
- Expect a different first sight-line puzzle than Way A even if the room fantasy is the same Security theme.
- Pre-select softlock furniture before you cross the opening tile.
- Confirm your skill leftover points — Way B often wants a flexible INT/STR mix rather than a pure dump.
Mid-route habits
- Treat Way B as a re-timing exam: wait for the pattern that opens your commit, then leave.
- STR helps force stuck objects or pressure moments, but sight cones still delete impatient larva.
- If you came from a Kitchen detection spiral, Way B will feel unfair — that is nest starvation, not “B is harder forever.”
- Cross-check map context in Key Rooms and Atlas Overview when halls confuse you.
Build fit
Way B pairs well with:
- Balanced INT/STR after nest.
- Players comfortable with shorter commit windows.
- Second-run learners who already cleared Way A once.
Poor fit: first-ever Demo session with no softlock muscle memory. Consider Way A first, then flip on a replay.
Failure modes unique to B
- Mistaking Way B for a STR rush corridor.
- Skipping desk softlocks because “this branch is the aggressive one.”
- Entering boss-adjacent tiles while still mid-detection.
A vs B decision table
| Question | Prefer Way A | Prefer Way B |
|---|---|---|
| Softlock mastery | High | Medium+ |
| INT lean | Strong match | Flexible |
| STR lean | Situational | Useful but not required |
| First Demo clear | Safer default | Second run / curiosity |
| Nest income | Must be stable | Must be stable |
Neither route deletes the boss. Both should end with you ready for How to Beat the Boss.
Linking Kitchen → Security → Boss
Correct Demo chain:
- Finish Kitchen banking — Kitchen Route.
- Choose Way A or Way B with this page.
- Clear Security without a detection spiral.
- Enter boss with nest and skills intact — How to Beat the Boss.
- Hit Demo end — return to Demo Walkthrough End of Demo notes.
Clinic, Laboratory, and Cafeteria may still appear as side risk. Do not derail Security mid-run for tourism.
Softlock and detection rules (Security floor)
Security Room furniture is your panic bank. Rules do not change because the room name is louder:
- Spotting ⇒ ~1 minute hide.
- Partial look ⇒ still bias toward a short softlock.
- Stuck UI ⇒ Softlock Fixes, not key-mashing.
- Japanese UI confusion ⇒ Locale Emulator before you call it a softlock.
Refresh inputs on Keyboard if hide/interact binds feel wrong mid-gate.
Replay plan
First clear: pick the branch that matches your softlock comfort (usually Way A). Second clear: flip to the other Way, keep nest habits identical, and note which pressure windows differ. That comparison teaches Atlas better than one lucky boss kill.
Opinionated take after both clears: Demo Review. Patch drift: Changelog, Steam Status.

Security is a timing exam with two answer keys. Bring nest income, wait the minute, and leave with boss readiness — not with a detection spiral.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common Alien Invasyndrome questions.
What is Security Route A versus Route B?
Alternate Demo approaches into Security Room. Way A favors patience and softlocks; Way B shifts timing/pressure. Details are in the sections above and Security Room.
Which Security route should beginners take?
Way A is usually the safer first clear if your softlock and nest habits are solid. Flip to Way B on a second run.
Do I need different skills for A and B?
Both need nest + stealth discipline. INT leans help A; B often wants a flexible INT/STR mix. See Early Build.
What comes after Security Room?
The Demo boss, then Demo end. Use How to Beat the Boss and the End chapter in Demo Walkthrough.
I keep getting spotted in Security — help?
Enforce the ~1 minute desk hide, abort to nest if spiraling, and re-read Stealth and Detection.
