Security Room Guide

Content note

Alien Invasyndrome is an adult stealth-action Demo (Steam app 4603980). This Security Room guide is systems-and-routes only. Brief 18+ notice: the game includes mature themes; descriptions here stay mechanical.

Why Security matters

On Atlas, the Security Room is where Demo players stop improvising and start committing. Unlike Kitchen or Clinic practice loops, Security ties stealth, cameras, nesting windows, and often later pressure into one space. A wrong mid-room pivot between Route A and Route B creates extra crossings in front of the exact sightlines you were trying to avoid.

Use this page for room logic. For step lists, open Security Routes. For full Demo ordering, use Demo Walkthrough. Stealth fundamentals remain on Stealth and Detection.

Route A vs Route B (decision first)

Pick a route before you nest, loot, or force an objective.

Route A (practical profile): Usually the cleaner teaching path if your early build favors patience, INT-leaning nodes, and single-burst movement between cover. You trade some detours for fewer simultaneous checks.

Route B (practical profile): Often denser on timing. Better when you already recover from detection without panic and can hold desk softlocks without mashing. Worse when you still cancel nests late.

Neither route deletes the detection penalty. If you get spotted, expect about one minute of hide-first recovery before you resume the branch.

Commit rules:

  1. Announce the route to yourself at the door.
  2. Do not swap because a nest prompt on the other branch looks closer.
  3. If the room state is ruined, leave and re-enter on the same chosen branch rather than inventing Route C.

Detailed beat-by-beat splits live on Security Routes.

Camera and patrol reading

Treat cameras as predictable cones, not random fail machines. Wait for the far edge of a sweep, then move in one continuous burst to the next cover tile. Stopping mid-cone to “think” is how Security farm runs die.

Patrol crew in Security often re-check doorways after a noise or prior alert. If you were spotted earlier on the deck, assume doorway patience is gone and add an extra desk softlock before crossing.

Desk softlocks:

  • Enter only when the nearest threat is committed away from your tile.
  • Exit only after a peek. Blind stand-ups into cameras are common here.
  • If hide traps input, use Softlock Fixes rather than restarting the whole Demo.

Nesting inside Security

Nesting in Security is optional greed until your route says it is required. When you do nest:

  • Pair nest tile + cover tile before you move.
  • Never start a nest during the detection penalty.
  • Prefer nests that do not force a post-success walk across an active camera midline.
  • Abort early if a cone turns. “Almost done” nests in Security are expensive.

If you are still learning nest abort timing, practice in Kitchen first via How to Nest and Kitchen Route, then return.

Build expectations for Security

Security punishes unfinished early builds. You want enough stealth reliability to finish quiet segments and enough STR only if your branch expects pressure afterward. A Demo-safe order is outlined in Early Build. Evolution fantasy can wait until the room is consistent; see Evolution Paths after you can clear your chosen route without a restart habit.

INT helps you keep Route A stable. STR does not make cameras ignore you. Mix with intent.

Boss adjacency

For many Demo players, Security is psychologically linked to later confrontation prep. Do not conflate “I entered Security” with “I am ready for the boss segment.” Clear the room objectives for your route, bank progression, then follow How to Beat the Boss as a separate readiness check. Bringing broken stealth habits into a boss attempt just stacks failure modes.

Failure modes and resets

Common Security failures:

  • Mid-room A/B swap
  • Nest during alert
  • Crossing on camera midline
  • Desk exit without peek
  • Panic STR sprint through a cone

Reset protocol:

  1. Hide; honor the ~1 minute penalty.
  2. Softlock if needed.
  3. Re-identify your committed route.
  4. Take the next micro-objective only (door, camera gap, nest), not the whole room.
  5. If the instance is actually stuck, Softlock Fixes.

How Security connects to the rest of Atlas

Security is one node among Top/Middle/Lower deck spaces that also include Kitchen, Clinic, Laboratory, and Cafeteria. Use Key Rooms to keep deck transitions sane. Players who tunnel-vision Security without knowing which deck door they came from often re-enter into the worse cone.

Recommended practice order before Security mastery:

  1. Kitchen quiet nest loop
  2. Clinic desk softlock exits
  3. Laboratory long-sightline waits
  4. Security Route A until boring
  5. Security Route B only after A is stable

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common Alien Invasyndrome questions.

Should I take Route A or Route B first?

Take Route A while learning. It is usually the cleaner timing teacher. Unlock Route B after you can finish A without mid-room improvisation.

Can I switch routes mid-Security Room?

Avoid it. Swapping A and B mid-clear creates extra camera and patrol crossings. Re-enter and commit instead.

Is nesting required in Security?

Only when your route or objectives require it. Opportunistic nests during alert or across camera midlines are a common Demo wipe.

What do I do if I get detected in Security?

Hide for about one minute, softlock if needed, then resume the same committed route. Do not sprint for a nest prompt during the penalty.

Does Security prepare me for the boss?

It prepares stealth discipline and sometimes progression, but boss readiness is a separate check. Use the How to Beat the Boss guide after a clean Security clear.
