Demo Controls Hub

What this hub covers

Alien Invasyndrome is an adult stealth-action Demo on Atlas. You control a weak alien larva: move, hide under desks, interact, nest, and spend INT/STR. This Controls Hub collects input, Windows locale setup, and system-requirements pages so route guides can stay focused on rooms. Adult cast is 18+; we keep a mechanical tone.

Developer Mozu Field / 百舌鳥, publisher Shady Corner Games. Wishlist Steam app 4603980. Full release TBA. Demo builds reached a Demo 1.0 hotfix (May 2026) checkpoint — learn verbs, not only printed key glyphs. Store facts: Steam Status.

Controls pages

PageRole
Keyboard ControlsCore movement, interact, menu, and hide binds
Stealth ActionsSoftlock, detection minute, commit/retreat verbs
Save & ProgressDemo save slots, resume quirks, and Patreon vs Steam builds
Locale EmulatorJapanese UI readability on non-JP Windows
System RequirementsWindows 10+, OpenGL 4.1, storage, RAM listing quirks

Start with Keyboard if you are new. Jump to Stealth Actions when detection spirals. Open Save & Progress before long Security or boss sessions if saves feel unreliable. Open Locale Emulator when prologue text is missing or tiny. Open System Requirements before you blame a “broken Demo” that never cleared the launch gate.

Why inputs matter on Atlas

Kitchen, Clinic, Laboratory, Cafeteria, and Security Room are timing puzzles. Wrong interact timing or late hide converts a clean nest run into a full ~1 minute reset. Pair this hub with:

Tools that reinforce muscle memory: Detection Timer, Nest Checklist, Skill Planner.

  1. Confirm your PC against System Requirements.
  2. Install / launch the Demo from Steam (Demo Access).
  3. If Japanese strings fail, configure Locale Emulator before long play.
  4. Confirm Keyboard Controls in a safe corridor.
  5. Drill hide → wait → exit from Stealth Actions.
  6. Only then open nesting, capture, and Kitchen routes.

Skipping locale setup creates fake softlocks: players blame desks when they cannot read the prompt that exits hide. Skipping system checks creates fake “content bugs” that are actually GPU / storage failures.

Softlock under desks (control framing)

Softlock is both a verb and a failure mode:

  • Verb: intentional hide under desks / furniture after risk.
  • Failure: stuck state where leave-hide does nothing — Softlock Fixes.

Controls pages teach the verb. Guides teach recovery when the Demo glitches. Cover literacy beyond desks: Vents and Cover. Do not mash every key while stuck.

Detection minute — control discipline

After a clear spotting, plan on about one minute in hide before re-entering the route. That rule is independent of whether you prefer INT or STR. Stealth Actions expands the commit/retreat language; Detection Timer helps you practice the wait without guessing.

Locale and language notes

Steam lists English and Japanese interface/subtitles. Older or JP-first builds may still expect a Japanese Windows locale for correct glyph sizing. Locale Emulator is the practical fix on English Windows. This is not a crack and not a trainer — it only adjusts locale context for the process.

If Steam English is already fully readable in your build, you may skip emulator setup. If prologue text is small or missing, do not continue into Security Room blind.

System requirements snapshot

Before long Atlas sessions, confirm:

  • Windows 10+
  • OpenGL 4.1 class GPU path
  • Roughly 1 GB free storage
  • Realistic RAM expectations (Steam’s odd 4 MB minimum vs 4 GB recommended — explained on System Requirements)

Inputs without goals waste sessions. After binds feel automatic:

Common control mistakes

  • Rebinding mid-Security Room without a safe desk nearby.
  • Confusing interact with the hide verb under pressure.
  • Leaving hide early because the minute “feels done.”
  • Ignoring Locale Emulator when menus are garbage text.
  • Ignoring System Requirements when the Demo never reaches the first corridor.
  • Watching a full gameplay video without practicing hide in a low-threat room first.

Support

Wishlist the TBA full release. Report honest Demo input bugs to the developers when you can reproduce them. Keep this hub bookmarked whenever a patch reshuffles on-screen prompts — the stealth verbs stay the same even if glyphs move.

Return here whenever a route page assumes you can softlock on command and you cannot. Fix inputs first, then resume Kitchen Route, Clinic Doctor Route, or Security Routes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common Alien Invasyndrome questions.

Where do I find keyboard binds for the Demo?

See Keyboard Controls. Practice them in a safe corridor before Kitchen or Security Room.

What are stealth actions in Alien Invasyndrome?

Commit, retreat, and desk softlock verbs plus the ~1 minute detection hide. Full page: Stealth Actions.

Why do people mention Locale Emulator?

Some builds show missing or tiny Japanese UI on non-JP Windows. Setup steps: Locale Emulator.

Can my PC run the Demo?

Check System Requirements for Windows 10+, OpenGL 4.1, storage, and the Steam RAM listing quirk before long installs.
